GaP-Diamond Hybrid Platform Enhances Quantum Light-Matter InteractionsOptics industry

On October 15, the Optica news center reported that researchers fabricated nanophotonic cavities in gallium phosphide (GaP) thin films on a carrier using electron-beam lithography. After screening through spectroscopic testing, the cavities were integrated onto a diamond substrate via stamp transfer, enhancing quantum optical interactions with color centers and achieving cooperativity greater than 1 in experiments. On October 18, Phys.org further reported that the platform enabled controllable interactions between photons and diamond silicon-vacancy (SiV) centers. The team produced more than 600 nanophotonic cavities by stamp transfer with a yield of 99.5%, obtained a spin relaxation time exceeding 0.4 milliseconds, and achieved single-shot readout of SiV electron spins. The team plans to connect multiple devices on the same chip and demonstrate entanglement.

How is heat calculated?About the list

Heat comes from independent accounts and organizations participating in the same event. Repeated collection counts only once, and it decays with a 24-hour half-life. It measures discussion activity, not reporting quality.

The list is based mainly on posts from tracked accounts in the last 48 hours. New discussions from the last 96 hours (including X posts found by keyword search) are counted at a low weight and capped; when things are quiet, content from the last 7 days is added. Trends compare only the same set of sources with continuous coverage; they reflect our monitoring scope, not the whole web. When comparable history is missing, no trend line is shown.

The source list shows only publicly readable reporting sources; discussion participants also include accounts and organizations counted toward heat only. Multiple channels of the same organization may be merged, so participants are not necessarily more numerous than sources. Click an event to see reporting and viewpoints from each side.
